Ceylon Tea Bungalows offers an authentic tea bungalow experience located in a private 30 acre tea estate approximately 45 minutes from the famed city of Ella. The original planter’s cottage dates back to the 1930’s and has been beautifully renovated in a unique mix of mid-century furniture and chic modern designer features. Ceylon Tea Bungalows features 5 rooms and suites named after famous locations in the English Lake District, which bears a distinctive resemblance to the beautiful landscape of the eastern hill country. A personal butler service is available to look after the requirements of each guest while scenic nature treks and signature dining options are ample.
Types of Rooms
Deluxe and Superior Deluxe Room
There are four Deluxe Rooms namely Appleby, Coniston, Grasmere, Eskdale. Three of the Deluxe Rooms, (Appleby, Conniston and Grasmere) are in one cluster and share a private verandah so are ideal for families. All four rooms are with four poster beds. The 3 Deluxe Rooms (Appleby, Coniston and Grasmere) open up to the lawn while Eskdale which is comparatively larger (Superior) Deluxe Room faces the back of the bungalow.
Windermere Suite
A large suite in the original bungalow next to the living room with a four poster bed looking out over the garden and the hills. It is furnished with a lovely blend of colonial and modern mid-century furniture. This is a perfect choice for any visitor that would like to experience a more spacious room that retains the colonial ambience of the original property.

Amenities in the rooms include King size four poster beds in Windermere Suite and Eskadale and queen size four poster beds in Appleby, Conniston and Grasmere, mini fridge, safe, tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen TV, satellite channels, WD media player, ceiling fan, hair dryer, bath robes, toiletries, table top charging points, bathroom with modern wash basin and shower, collection of classic films.
