Hotel overview
Amanwella is situated within a coconut grove on a private beach close to the fishing town of Tangalle in southern Sri Lanka. The beach resort’s name derives from the combination of the words aman, or “peace” in Sanskrit, and wella, the Sinhalese name for “beach”. All the suites are contemporary in design and feature their own plunge pool and terrace. The suites are dotted on a hillside meaning they all benefit from stunning views of the ocean and beach, with two rocky headlands either side. The property offers 27 suites, a library, a spa, a swimming pool, lounge bar and many dining experiences with the Pool Terrace - ideal for alfresco dining and The Beach Club - providing an alternative venue for lunch and private dinners.
