Itinerary
Get an early start to witness sunrise at Angkor Wat and experience the 12th-century temple at its best in the early morning hours. Heading out before dawn, you are guided to a vantage point that captures the best views of the sun making its appearance behind the UNESCO World Heritage and its iconic lotus towers. After sunrise, explore the crowning achievement of Khmer art and architecture, walking through the temple’s concentric courtyards to view intricate bas reliefs depicting important historical events and complex scenes of Hindu mythology.
Enjoy behind-the-scenes access to ancient Angkorian landmarks with exclusive insights from the German Apsara Conservation Project (GACP). Meet members of the team and learn more about their work while visiting sites that are currently undergoing restoration and closed to the general public. The exact site varies depending on the projects taking place at the time of your visit.
Please note: Please dress appropriately when visiting temples and religious sites. Shoulders and knees should be covered (no short skirts or short trousers).
