Day 1 - Meet South American Camelids
Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, you will be met and given assistance in connection with your internal flight to Cusco.
Upon arrival in Cusco, you are met and transferred to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. En route, stop at Manos de la Comunidad, a center where South American Camelids (members of the camel family) including Llamas, Alpacas, Guanacos and Vicunas are all bred. Learn about the renowned fibers created from their coats, as well as the ancient weaving techniques which are still practiced to this day.

Day 2 - Visit Salt Pans of Maras
Meet Quechua-speaking farmers and weavers on an inspiring half-day visit to an Andean highland community in the Sacred Valley. This personal encounter reveals the unique lifestyle and traditions of descendants from the mighty Inca Empire. Explore their village, see and taste the typical food of the area, understand their ancient medical remedies, watch weavers at work, wander into the fields to learn about local agricultural practices and join in a traditional Andean blessing.
Drive through the valley to the salt pans of Maras (Salineras de Maras) to appreciate a method of salt extraction used since Inca times.
From the village of Maras, continue to Moray, a fascinating archaeological site comprising a series of concentric agricultural terraces, some as deep as 150 meters (492 feet), while enjoying the magnificent views this part of the Sacred Valley offers.

Day 3 - Urubamba Valley
Transfer from your hotel to the station in Ollantaytambo to board the Vistadome train. Take the train from the station located at the village of Ollantaytambo to Km 104 of the railway, the starting point of our trek. First, you pass the ruins of Chachabamba and then begin a four-hour ascent. During the climb, you have a spectacular view of the Urubamba Valley and finally reach the magnificent ruins of Wiñay Wayna (Forever Young).
From this point, we continue our expedition along one of the best-preserved sections of the trail, through a wet cloud forest full of abundant flora and fauna. Finally, you cross the entry of Intipunku (Gate of Sun) after which you find an unforgettable sweep of natural beauty and human artistry: the magical city of Machu Picchu which you will explore tomorrow.
You board a bus to the town of Aguas Calientes and are dropped at your hotel. Dinner at your hotel.

Day 4 - Enjoy the Citadel of Machu Picchu
Transfer to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is widely known for its great spirituality and the best time to experience the serenity of the citadel is at dawn. Today you have another chance to visit the ruins and to capture some memorable images. Visit Huayna Picchu mountain, located to the north of the citadel, which you often see in the background of images of Machu Picchu. On top of the mountain, you can see the terraces, which were built to avoid erosion and now display beautiful Incan gardens. Reach the top of the mountain by following the trail that continues along the left side of the mountain. The walk takes approximately an hour to complete. In the afternoon, transfer to Aguas Calientes.
Vistadome Train back to Ollantaytambo train station.
On arrival at Ollantaytambo Station, you will be met by a representative and transferred by private vehicle to your hotel in Cusco. The transfer time is approximately 2 hours.

Day 5 - A Night on Belmond Andean Explorer Train
Transfer from your Cusco hotel to the train station to board the Belmond Andean Explorer Train
An overnight escape aboard the stylish carriages of Belmond Andean Explorer departing from Cusco, across the giant peaks and wide open spaces of the highest plains of the Andes to reach Lake Titicaca - the birthplace of the Incas.
11:00 Departure from Cusco to Puno. Enjoy lunch on board before your visit to Raqchi at 13:55. Tea is served at 15:30 after which you can admire the sunset at la Raya. Cocktail and dinner before arriving at Titicaca Lake station at 23:30.

Day 6 - The World’s Highest Navigable Lake
06:00 Breakfast on board.
08:00 Arrival at Titilaka Lake station.
Transfer to Titilaka, located in the Altiplano, Puno is the home of Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake at 3,812m (12,507 fts). This area waits for the visitors to impress them with its beautiful landscapes, traditional indigenous communities, fauna, history and archaeological sites.
The lodge offers different excursions designed to meet your interests and capabilities. they include the main attractions on land and on the lake, as well as a number of shorter visits to complement these.
All excursions and activities offered are included in the rates, except for those requiring border passage to Bolivia. Excursions are organized into three difficulty levels, according to the physical demand specified in the summary chart.

Day 8 - Welcome to Lima!
Transfer to Juliaca Airport to take the flight to Lima.
Reception at the airport and transfer to the “City of the Kings”, starting at Plaza Mayor, the original site upon which Lima was founded. Your first stop is the historic Cathedral, considered by many as an architectural masterpiece. You then pass by the grand presidential palace, before continuing on to Santo Domingo Convent. After you have finished in the historic center, you are driven through the modern area of Lima to visit the beautiful residential districts of Miraflores and San Isidro. Lunch and Dinner under your own arrangements.

Day 9 - Embrace the Amazon Cuisine
Transfer to Lima International airport for your domestic flight to Iquitos.
Upon arrival, receive a warm welcome at Iquitos International Airport by Aqua Expedition’s crew.
Board the transfer to the exclusive Nauta Lounge for embarkation.
Settle into the generously sized suite as you begin one of life’s greatest adventures. Following an introduction to our naturalist guides and a routine safety drill, gather at the restaurant for the first of many Amazonian cuisine experiences created by Aqua Nera’s renowned consulting chef, Pedro Miguel Schiaffino.

Day 10 - Birdwatching
Rise with the sun for an early morning birdwatching along the Marañon River. Later, canoe or kayak on the Yanayacu-Pucate River and look out for Amazon’s legendary pink river dolphins. In the afternoon, visit an Amazonian village, where you can interact with native riberenos (people of the river) and visit local schoolchildren.

Day 11 - A Jungle Sunrise
Awake to a lush jungle sunrise and birdwatching along the Samiria River, enjoying breakfast in the middle of the lush jungle. Swimming and kayaking are some of the recommended activities at this part of the Reserve. In the evening, embark on a wildlife excursion on the black waters of Nauta Caño, and end the night with extraordinary stargazing.

Day 12 - Embrace the Peruvian Amazon
In the morning, take a guided visit to the local market and marvel at the regional produce of the Peruvian Amazon, and sample exotic snacks if you wish. Return to the Aqua Nera for breakfast and to pack up. Before saying goodbye, we will visit the Manatee Rescue Center, a sanctuary for orphaned Amazonian manatees to rehabilitate before their release back into the wild.
Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, you will be met and given assistance with the check-in at your hotel.
