COVID-19 Protocols & Entry Requirements

International Travel Status

The United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland are OPEN to international travel for citizens or residents of all countries.

Access into UK & Ireland

Entry into the United Kingdom is permitted through all international airports in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.

Entry into the Republic of Ireland is permitted through all international airports.

 

Entry Requirements

For entry into the United Kingdom:

  • Guests arriving from all countries except those on the red list must present a certificate of full vaccination (second or final dose administered at least 14 days prior) and book a PCR/antigen test to be taken no later than day 2 after arrival. The test must be booked prior to arrival in the country, but there is no requirement to self-isolate between arrival and the test
  • Non-vaccinated guests from these countries must present negative results from a PCR/LAMP/antigen test taken no more than 72 hours earlier, a second set of negative results from a pre-booked PCR/antigen test on or before the second day after their arrival, and a third set of negative results on the eighth day, remaining in self-isolation for ten days until the third set of results arrive
  • All guests arriving from red list countries, regardless of vaccination status, must present negative results from a PCR/LAMP/antigen test taken no more than 72 hours earlier, a second set of negative results from a pre-booked PCR/antigen test on or before the second day after their arrival, and a third set of negative results on the eighth day, remaining in self-isolation for ten days until the third set of results arrive
  • All guests must complete a Passenger Locator Form in advance of their journey to present upon arrival (available here: www.gov.uk/provide-journey-contact-details-before-travel-uk)
  • Guests are recommended to follow COVID-19 prevention measures that include the compulsory wearing of face masks on public transport in certain areas, including London, and social distancing.

 

For entry into the Republic of Ireland:

  • Guests arriving from other EU/Schengen Area countries must present one of the following (EU Digital COVID Passport accepted):
    • negative results from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours earlier
    • certificate of full vaccination (second or final dose administered at least 14 days prior)
    • certificate of recovery from infection (within 180 days of recorded infection)
  • Guests arriving from low risk countries outside of the EU/Schengen Area must present one of the following in addition to a Passenger Locator Form (available here: https://cvd19plf-prod1.powerappsportals.com/en-us/):
    • certificate of full vaccination (second or final dose administered at least 14 days prior)
    • certificate of recovery from infection (within 180 days of recorded infection)
    • negative results from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours earlier. In this case, guests must also enter a mandatory 14-day quarantine, which can be left with a second set of negative results from a PCR test taken no earlier than the 5th day
  • Guests arriving from higher risk countries outside of the EU/Schengen Area are subject to a mandatory 14-day quarantine in government-approved facilities and must present negative results from a PCR test taken no more than 72 hours earlier in addition to a Passenger Locator Form (available here: https://cvd19plf-prod1.powerappsportals.com/en-us/). Those with certificates of vaccination or recovery can leave quarantine with a second set of negative results from a PCR test taken no earlier than the 5th day. Those without certificates of vaccination or recovery can leave quarantine with a second set of negative results from a PCR test taken no earlier than the 10th day
  • Guests must adhere to COVID-19 prevention measures that include the compulsory wearing of face masks in public indoor and outdoor spaces and social distancing

 

COVID-19 Testing

United Kingdom

  • PCR testing is available in London. We are continuing to investigate options for antigen testing and further options for PCR testing and will update with more information when possible. Testing is subject to availability and pre-booking is highly recommended.
  • Opening times vary depending on location. We recommend for guests to be tested at their accommodation.
  • Results can be guaranteed within 48 hours, but are typically available within 24 hours. Results are provided in different ways depending on the type of test taken and the destination. Most testing facilities are able to provide results to the guest via email or text message, while others require the guest to return to the clinic to pick up results in person.
  • Costs vary according to location, type of test and type of facility (in clinic or mobile testing at guest accommodation). Approximate costs for testing at a clinic are £250. Approximate costs for testing at guest accommodation are £350. Payment should be made directly to the testing facility.

Ireland

  • Results are typically available within 24 hours. Results are provided in different ways depending on the type of test taken and the destination. Most testing facilities are able to provide results to the guest via email or text message, while others require the guest to return to the clinic to pick up results in person.
  • Costs vary according to location, type of test and type of facility (in clinic or mobile testing at guest accommodation). Approximate costs for PCR testing at a clinic are €225. Approximate costs for PCR testing at guest accommodation are €325. Payment should be made directly to the testing facility.
