Day 1 - Ponta Delgada

Arrive in Ponta Delgada, Portugal — located on São Miguel Island in the Azores — where you are met and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 - Ponta Delgada

Explore the island’s volcanic region, where you stop at one of the few tea plantations in Europe to sample tea. Afterwards, arrive in time to Fumarolas Lagoa das Fumerols to watch the cooking pots of a traditional dish (called Cozido) being removed from the volcanic fumaroles. Later, drive to the delightful village of Furnas for a walking tour with the possibility of a bath in the hot springs. Enjoy authentic Cozido for lunch in a local restaurant. On the way back to your hotel stop in Vila Franca do Campo to sample the famous pastry, Queijada da Vila.

Day 3 - Sete Cidades

In the Western part of the island of Sao Miguel is the quaint village of Sete Cidades. Set in a volcanic crater at the shores of the famous Blue and Green Lake, you will have the opportunity to explore this beautiful location from both land and water. Venture onto the calm waters of the twin lakes with a stand up paddle or take an easy e-bike ride along the banks. Enjoy a hike along the crater rim, visit the viewpoint of Vista do Rei to take in 360 degree spectacular views. Stroll through Lagoa do Canario Park and take a look out over Boca D’Inferno.

Day 4 - Ponta Delgada

Embark on a voyage to the lesser-known side of São Miguel. Start your day at the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Natural Park, where you can be awestruck by the splendid waterfalls and awe-inspiring landscapes. Next, make your way to the north coast to witness the sweeping panorama from Miradouro da Ponta do Sossego. This site showcases the rugged ocean and verdant cliffs, a sight that enthralls photographers and wanderers alike. In the afternoon, explore the charms of the historic center in Vila do Nordeste. and the picturesque Azorean village of Vila da Povoação, famed for its rich history and splendid architecture.

Day 5 - Ponta Delgada – Lisbon

Fly to Lisbon today and enjoy an overview tour of the city which sprawls over seven hills.  Explore distinct areas such as the fascinating Alfama Quarter, which dates back to the 5th century, or the Baixa, cited as the heart of the city and comprising of magnificent avenues lined with 18th-century architecture. Continue to the Belém district, with its magnificent Jerónimos Monastery, an extraordinary example of Portugal's 'Manueline’ style of architecture. See the Torre de Belém (Belém Tower) from the outside, one of Lisbon's most iconic buildings and symbolic of Portugal's great Age of Expansion.

Please note that an interior visit to the Jerónimos Monastery cloisters is only possible during quieter periods.

Day 6 - Lisbon

Day 7 - Lisbon

Experience the perfect balance between sightseeing, culture, and of course, food and wine tastings on this food and wine walking tour. Meet your guide and start with a short walk to your first food stop; try Lisbon’s traditional pastel de nata (custard tart) and bifana (fried pork sandwich) at a venue considered the pit stop for all locals looking for their delicious snack fix. Explore the Bica district, strolling along some characterful streets. Sit down at a local restaurant specialising in petiscos (the Portuguese cousin of tapas), where you taste an assortment of small dishes accompanied by delicious wine while you gaze at the stunning views of the city and the river.

Your tour ends today as you are transferred to Lisbon Airport for your departure.
