Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Costa Brava

Upon arrival at Barcelona airport you are welcomed to Spain by your local Guardian Angel as you exit customs into the arrival’s hall and, after a short meeting, you are transferred to your hotel on the Costa Brava.

Overnight: Mas de Torrent Hotel & Spa

 

Day 2 - Costa Brava

Accompanied by your local guide, start your medieval immersion in Monells and continue through Madremanya where you stroll the streets of two medieval villages, walk under its arcades and enter an authentic church that is normally closed to the public to learn about its history. Located in a rural setting, unique and quiet, it is a perfect activity for you to relax and enjoy a quiet walk.

Continue the tour with a visit to an olive grove where Jordi, the owner of the mill, explains the olive oil production process from the olive harvest. You have the chance to see an authentic oil mill where extra virgin olive oil is produced in a completely handmade way and you visit the traditional installations of the stone mill with specialized personnel. The tour ends with a tasting of the sublime produce.

The afternoon is at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel facilities and its surroundings.

Day 3 - Costa Brava

The Baix Empordà offers a lot of possibilities to explore the lovely paths and promenades that run along the sea. Embark on a hiking tour that lets you discover the real Costa Brava with spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, fishing villages, wild vegetation and hidden coves with crystal-clear waters. 

Together with Sandra, an authentic local guide, start walking through the coastal paths until Cala Aiguafreda, Sa Tuna and Sa Riera. You make a stop in Sa Riera to freshen up and enjoy a real fisherman’s lunch. Return to the hotel along El Camino del Agua (the Water Path). In short, a triangle with three very different landscapes: Mediterranean forest with holm oaks and cork trees, the second section with the typical coastal landscape, and the third with riverside woods. Total: 9 km (5 ½ miles) -  Medium difficulty. We recommend wearing a hat or a cap and bringing sunscreen and water.

Day 4 - Costa Brava

Dalí is much more than a museum in Figueres, which is why you start the day with a walk in the nature of Cap de Creus for you to enjoy the whimsical geological forms that, together with an incredible combination of colours, make up the unique landscape that so inspired the great Salvador Dalí.

After this walk, a good fisherman’s meal awaits you in Port-Lligat. The afternoon ends with a unique visit to the House-Museum of Salvador Dalí in the company of our expert local guide on Dalí and his history.

Day 5 - Costa Brava

The Popi is a recently restored boat that is perfect for you to enjoy an authentic Costa Brava experience at sea. Hop on board at the port of Palamós and start cruising the waves of the Mediterranean, accompanied by a chef and the captain. Sail along the coast of the Costa Brava and have lunch in a wonderful cove on board. The highlight of this wonderful experience is the show cooking and a special tasting of local products from La Llotja in Palamós (a building used for trade and seafaring life) based on anchovies, rice casserole (with empordà-style rice), real prawns from Palamós and more. You also have the chance to taste some wine from D.O. Empordà. Some paddle surf boards are available for you if you wish to go for a dive. 

Note: We recommend wearing a hat or a cap and bringing sunscreen, a swimsuit and a towel.

Day 6 - Costa Brava

Spend a different kind of morning among the rice fields and get to know the first Catalan cider on the Costa Brava. Embark on an electric bike tour to explore the old Baix Ter marshes and their main crop, rice, which has been awarded the special designation of origin 'Arroz de Pals'. Visit the area to see rice farming first-hand, delve into its history, learn all about the types of rice, the main mills in the area, the well-known 'Basses d'en Coll', a perfect bird observatory, and the mouth of the old Daró where you enjoy unique views of the Medes Islands. Wrap up your route in a farm where cider is made to understand the production process and all its particularities. A small tasting of cider and juice complements your morning activity.

Day 7 - Costa Brava

Full day at leisure for you to enjoy the hotel facilities and its surroundings. Take some time to indulge in the spa or head into town for some shopping.
