Alternative option:

The St Moritz bobsleigh track is not just the only natural course in the world (meaning that it does not require artificial freezing, unlike all other professional tracks), it is also one of the most legendary, having served two Olympic Games, as well as numerous World Championships in its century-old history. It is not only the professionals that have the thrills of zooming down the mountain at adrenaline-pumping speeds though - you too have the chance to experience the emotions with a unique bobsleigh run of your own! Strap yourself in and a highly-experienced bobsleigh pilot navigates your rapid journey downhill, round the Devils Dyke and Horse-Shoe bends, reaching speeds of up to 130km/h (80mph) and finishing down in Celerina in under 90 seconds. A second professional accompanies you with a hand on the brake at all times to ensure your safety.

Day 8 - Jungfraujoch

Meet your English-speaking guide at the hotel lobby for a full day excursion to Jungfraujoch. This excursion takes you to the very heart of the Bernese Alps - from the green valleys to the glistening, eternal snow fields and glaciers. You will travel by private car from Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen and board the train up to Jungfraujoch, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known as “the roof of Europe” at over 11,000 feet.

The railways of the Jungfrau region are under unified management and comprise an electrified, highly efficient transport system. For those technically interested: there are different gauges with gradients up to 25%. The highlight, of course, is the spectacular ride through the tunnel (4.4 miles long) cut into the rocks of the Eiger. The travelling time from Lauterbrunnen to the Jungfraujoch is approximately two hours each way. At Jungfraujoch, the highest railway station in Europe, you can visit the Ice Palace, which was hewn into the glacier in 1934, and the Sphinx Terraces - reached by lift affording breathtaking views of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest river of ice in Europe. Return to your hotel after the tour, first by train back to Grindelwald, then by private transfer to Interlaken.

Alternative option:

With spectacular views of the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau, the Niederhorn is a visit not to be missed. Leaving Interlaken this morning, head west along the banks of beautiful Lake Thun. Your guide accompanies you up the Beatenberg Vorsass gondola to enjoy the spellbinding views across the valley. You may even catch a glimpse of the mountains herd of ibex that graze on the slopes in the summer months. From the top, take the fast route down aboard a unique Trotti bike - a scooter with bicycle-sized wheels suitable for adults and children alike. Choose your route from the speedy 6-kilometre (30-minute) route along paved roads which weave through the forest. Or take the more scenic 12-kilometre (hour-long) route through Beatenberg. Having zoomed back to the gondola station, return to Interlaken with your guide
