COVID-19 Protocols & Entry Requirements

International Travel Status

The Kingdom of Bhutan has made changes to their entry protocols since 28th February 2022. Although travel restrictions still remain in place, they have been drastically reduced. Entry for foreign tourists is open only by air routes and not through land borders.

Access into Bhutan

Limited flights operate under the air bubble scheme with once a week flights from Delhi, Kolkata, Kathmandu, and Bangkok.

Entry Requirements

All travellers to Bhutan need to have a negative RT-PCR test report for a test taken no earlier than 72 hours before departure for Bhutan. The mandatory quarantine for the fully vaccinated tourists has been reduced to only 5 days. The non-vaccinated or partially vaccinated travellers still need to quarantine for 10 days.

Our contacts and associates in Bhutan are hopeful that these restrictions will also be removed by arrival of autumn season in September. We shall keep you updated on the developments in Bhutan.
