Day 1 - Arrive in Cape Town

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, collect your rental vehicle and self-drive to your hotel, as you begin your Westcoast exploration.

Cape Town is a cosmopolitan city at the centre of South Africa’s rich, multi-stranded history and heritage. The city offers a wealth of culinary experiences, unique shopping, and adventures second to none. Colloquially named the Mother City, it is known for its harbour, natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, and for landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point.

Day 4 - Cape Town to Paternoster

Depart from your hotel on a self-drive basis along the west coast passing through Yserfontein to Paternoster.

Day 6 - Drive to Cederberg

Depart from your hotel on a self-drive basis along the west coast passing through Velddrift, Piketbert, Cirtrusdal, Clanwilliam, and onto Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve.

The Cederberg region, only three hours from Cape Town, offers a unique and completely different landscape from Cape Town. The area is an ecological oasis and a magical wilderness retreat among open plains, sandstone formations, and ancient bush art sites dating back 10,000 years. Day 9 - Cedeberg to Montagu

Depart from Bushmans Kloof on a self-drive basis and travel along the Koue Bokkeveld Mountain Catchment area towards Tulbach and onto Ceres and Robertson. 

Montagu is a small town located in the Western Cape along the famous scenic Route 62 and about 180 kilometres from Cape Town. Montagu was founded on the farm "Uitvlugt" in 1851 and is known for its hot mineral springs and scenic mountains. It is also an agricultural centre, where orchards and vineyards are in production and local herbs are grown. Nearby rock formations make it one of the country's major rock climbing venues, while the 1,266-metre-high Bloupunt peak overlooks the village and offers several hiking trails and mountain biking trails further afield.
