Ol Lentille in north Kenya's Laikipia is an extraordinary place. Four individual houses - fabulously furnished in contemporary moods and hues - are tucked into a rocky outcrop, a kopje, in the middle of a wildlife conservancy three times the size of Manhattan. The views are spectacular, as if the whole of Africa is rolled out in front of you, your far horizon punctuated by the craggy, snow capped profile of Mt Kenya.

There's tons to do here - go game driving, take a lesson in scouting from one of your Maasai guides, horseback riding, enjoy a game of boules or cool off in the infinity pool where the water seems to spill away into unadulterated bush-scape beneath you.
