Alternatively described as 'Kenya's finest camp' and 'the most luxurious tented camp in Africa', Finch Hattons is richly deserving of the superlatives. But what Finch Hattons really does best is the luxury business. Its namesake, the hunter and Karen Blixen's lover, Denys Finch Hatton, was renowned for going on safari with a bathtub, a gramophone player and the finest French wines. Finch Hattons certainly lives up to his name, with its glinting chandeliers, crystal glasses and discreet kanzu-clad waiters. The 17 tents are a picture of sophistication, with crisp linen bedding, antique furniture, free standing copper baths and indoor and outdoor showers. There are multiple dining locations for guests to choose from and a star gazing terrace from where guests can enjoy the African night sky. Kids are in for a treat at the camp with the little explorers club that keeps them entertained with cooking lessons, bush survival skills and many more activities.
