Itinerary

Explore Bangkok’s old residential communities and hidden green spaces, where the hustle and bustle of modern-day Bangkok seems worlds away. Admire sweet-scented orchids and marigold blossoms at the Flower Market, stroll through a sky garden built on an abandoned railway bridge and learn about native Thai medicinal plants such as hog plum trees and crown flower plants. Then cross over the river to discover a local neighborhood where well-lived-in houses reflect a strong Chinese ancestry. Visit a local mosque, a community garden with a small museum dedicated to Thai Royal Family history and a Confucian temple. Enjoy refreshments at a family-run café located at the headquarters of a fish sauce company before walking back to the river, passing eclectic street art, old merchant’s houses and rice barns.
