COVID-19 Protocols & Entry Requirements

International Travel Status

Open – Peru reopened its air borders on October 5th 2020. Maritime and Land borders remain closed. 

Access into Peru

Entry into the country is allowed by air travel into Lima’s Jorge Chavez Airport (LIM), Arequipa's Rodríguez Ballón Airport (AAP) and Trujillo's Capitán FAP Carlos Martínez de Pinillos (TRU).

Entry Requirements

  • No PCR test or proof of vaccination is needed for travelers under the age of 12. They may enter Peru, as long as no COVID-19-related symptoms are present on arrival.
  • 12-year-old travelers and older must present full vaccination cards, against COVID-19. Please note that the last dose must have been taken at least 14 days before traveling.
  • Non-vaccinated travelers or those with an incomplete COVID-19 vaccination card, must present a negative PCR test result, taken no more than 48 hours before arrival.
  • For domestic flights, travelers must present a full vaccination card or a negative PCR test result (taken no more than 48 hours prior to travel).
  • While at the airport and throughout the flight, passengers must wear two masks.
  • Full vaccination cards might be required to enter Machu Picchu.
  • Wearing face masks in all public spaces is mandatory nationwide. While in closed places, such as airports or supermarkets, two face masks may be required.
  • A full vaccine card is a requirement for all adults of 18 years and older, wishing to enter museums, restaurants and other "closed" places. People of 40 years of age and older will be required to have a booster dose as well. A negative PCR test result will also be valid, as long as it was taken up to 38 hours prior to traveling to Peru.
  • Screenings are performed when entering many places. This includes hand sanitizing and keeping a 2-meter (6 feet) physical distance.

COVID-19 Testing

We can arrange PCR or antigen testing for onwards travel as follows. We will coordinate the testing with local labs at the most convenient point in the itinerary, in order for guests to have everything ready for their outbound flight.

Lima
Tests can be done by private laboratory, at guests' hotel; prices range from USD 81 to USD 95 (depending on hotel's location), per person. This may be paid for either in cash or with a credit card. Please take note of the following remarks:

  • Tests may be taken from Monday to Sunday, from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
  • Results will be delivered within 12 hours.
  • Reservations and payments must be made in advance. 

Cusco
We may arrange testing through private clinics, which allow guests to have this done in the comfort of their selected hotel. PCR tests range from USD 146 to USD 170 per person (depending on hotel's location). This may be paid for either in cash or with a credit card. Please take note of the following remarks:

  • Tests may be taken from Monday to Saturday, from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm. For Sunday and holidays, an appointment must be made and coordinated at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Results will be delivered within 24 hours, except on Sundays and holidays, when no results may be delivered.
  • Samples are taken, processed and delivered in Cusco.
  • Reservations and payments must be made in advance.
