Itinerary

Transfer to Gansbaai, 40 kilometres from Hermanus where boat-based whale watching (weather permitting) is offered between July and December.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast served at the restaurant before departing for the boat launch. Every trip is preceded by a brief introductory talk about the route and what to look to out for. Passengers are fitted with comfortable, inflatable life jackets, as safety is of utmost importance.

Your two-hour cruise will head out eight kilometres to Dyer Island which is completely protected for the conservation of its many resident bird species, including African penguins. Adjacent to Dyer Island is Geyser Rock, home to a 60,000 strong Cape fur seal colony. Encounter sightings of great white sharks, Bryde's whales, humpback whales, southern giant petrels, Cape gannets and dolphins.

After lunch you will have the opportunity to walk along the coastal paths of Hermanus where during whale season you might be able to spot whales from the shore. You will visit Hamilton Russel Vineyards, one of the most southerly vineyards in South Africa. Here you will enjoy tasting "Some of the best white wine available in SA". After your visit to the vineyards you will be transferred back to your hotel.
